ToleroTech

ToleroTech is a biotechnology company founded in 2002 by Dr. Thomas Ichim, specializing in the development of therapies to induce immunological tolerance in organ transplantation and autoimmune diseases. The company's core technology leverages RNA interference (RNAi) to silence specific genes responsible for the immune-mediated rejection of transplanted organs. Its lead candidate, ToleroVax, was an siRNA-based therapeutic aimed at preventing transplant rejection by modulating the host's immune response. While ToleroTech was a pioneer in the application of siRNA for transplantation, the company is no longer active, and its founder has since moved on to lead other ventures in the regenerative medicine and immunotherapy sectors.
