Total Scientific

Total Scientific was a UK-based contract research organization focused on biomarker-related services for pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and academic customers. The company specialized in bioanalysis, protein assays, biomarker discovery and validation, assay development, and phenome-wide association studies, and it also offered GLP-compliant analytical capabilities. Founded in Cambridge in 2006, it built a niche position in highly specialized bioanalysis and was described as the first company to offer PheWAS as a commercial service. In May 2018, Total Scientific was acquired by RxCelerate, which retired the Total Scientific brand and continued offering its capabilities through the broader RxCelerate platform. The legal entity was later dissolved in July 2025.
