Company intelligence / Profile preview
Touchstone Health Partnership, Inc. was a New York-based healthcare services company that operated as a Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Established in 2004 as a provider-sponsored organization (PSO), the company focused on delivering managed care and prescription drug coverage to Medicare beneficiaries in New York City, Westchester, and Orange counties. The firm was characterized by its physician-led governance model, which aimed to improve care coordination and reduce administrative overhead by involving doctors in the management of the plan. At its peak, Touchstone served approximately 17,000 members and was backed by prominent investors including EW Healthcare Partners and Lehman Brothers. Despite its growth, the company faced financial instability and regulatory challenges, leading to its acquisition by SummitStone Health Partners in 2015. Touchstone officially ceased operations on January 1, 2016, and was subsequently liquidated by the New York State Department of Financial Services in 2018.
