Toxicon

Toxikon was a U.S.-based preclinical contract research organization focused on nonclinical testing services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. The company provided in vivo, in vitro, analytical, and biocompatibility testing services used to support product development, safety assessment, and regulatory submissions rather than developing its own therapeutic pipeline. Toxikon was headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts and served clients across pharma, biotech, biologics, and medical devices. In December 2021, Labcorp completed its acquisition of Toxikon Corporation to expand Labcorp's nonclinical development testing capabilities. As a result, Toxikon is best understood as an acquired CRO brand/business rather than an independent operating biotech or drug developer.
