Company intelligence / Profile preview
Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust was a National Health Service (NHS) organization providing secondary care and community health services to the residents of Trafford in Greater Manchester, England. The trust was most notable for managing Trafford General Hospital, which is historically recognized as the birthplace of the NHS, having been the first hospital opened by Aneurin Bevan in 1948. It provided a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, elective surgery, and outpatient care across several sites. Due to financial and clinical sustainability challenges, the trust was formally acquired and merged into the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in April 2012. Its facilities are now managed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
