Company intelligence / Profile preview
Treatment Research Institute (TRI) was a prominent non-profit research and development organization focused on transforming the treatment of substance use disorders through science-based solutions. Founded in 1992 by Dr. A. Thomas McLellan, the institute is best known for developing the Addiction Severity Index (ASI), a gold-standard assessment tool used globally in clinical and research settings. TRI's work bridged the gap between research and practice by providing evidence-based tools, policy recommendations, and evaluation services to healthcare providers, insurers, and government agencies. In 2017, TRI merged with the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids to integrate its research capabilities with large-scale public health advocacy and family support services.
