Triage Medical was a medical device company that developed and commercialized innovative internal fixation systems for the orthopedic market, specifically targeting the foot and ankle. The company's core technology featured expandable bone fixation devices, such as the Hammer-Fix and Collage systems, which were designed to provide superior stability and compression compared to traditional K-wires. These products aimed to simplify surgical procedures for hammertoe correction and other small bone fixations while improving patient recovery times. In 2008, Triage Medical was acquired by Orthofix International for $30 million in cash plus potential milestone payments.
