Company intelligence / Profile preview
Tribos LLC was a Boston-based biotechnology startup spun out of Harvard University and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). The company focused on developing recombinant human lubricin (proteoglycan 4) for the treatment of dry eye, osteoarthritis, xerostomia, and other age- and inflammation-related conditions. In 2011, Tribos merged with Singularis, Inc. to form Lubris, LLC (now Lubris BioPharma), which continues to advance the recombinant lubricin platform. Its lead programs, including LBS-020 for radiation-induced xerostomia and recombinant human proteoglycan 4 for ophthalmic and immune conditions, have progressed into Phase 2 clinical evaluation.
