Tri-Med Research is a biotechnology and medical technology company founded by Nobel Laureate Dr. Barry Marshall, the co-discoverer of Helicobacter pylori. The company specializes in the development and commercialization of advanced diagnostic tests and research tools for H. pylori infections, which are a primary cause of stomach ulcers and gastric cancer. Its flagship innovations include the Pytest (a 14C-Urea Breath Test) and the CLOtest (a rapid urease test), which have become global clinical standards for the rapid detection of the bacteria. While its U.S. research and marketing arms were acquired by Kimberly-Clark (now Avanos Medical), the company continues to operate and support gastroenterology research globally through its Australian headquarters.
