TriPath Imaging was a medical technology company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of solutions for the early detection and management of cancer. The company's core product suite included the SurePath liquid-based Pap test and the FocalPoint Slide Profiler, which automated the screening of cervical cytology slides. TriPath also developed molecular diagnostic products, such as the ProEx C reagent kit, designed to identify overexpressed proteins associated with high-grade cervical disease. In 2006, the company was acquired by Becton Dickinson (BD) for approximately $350 million, becoming a key part of BD's diagnostic offerings in women's health.
