Company intelligence / Profile preview
Trovis Pharmaceuticals was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of therapies for osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal disorders. The company's primary asset was MIV-711 (formerly TV-02), a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of cathepsin K, an enzyme involved in the breakdown of bone and cartilage. Trovis was acquired by the Swedish pharmaceutical company Medivir AB in 2014 to expand its portfolio into bone-related diseases. Following the acquisition, the lead candidate progressed into Phase 2 clinical trials to evaluate its potential as a disease-modifying osteoarthritis drug.
