Tuned Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing next-generation T-cell therapies using synthetic biology. The company's core technology involves the use of synthetic notch (SynNotch) receptors to create logic-gated CAR-T cells, which are designed to recognize and attack cancer cells with higher specificity. This approach aims to overcome the limitations of traditional CAR-T therapies in treating solid tumors by ensuring the cells only activate when they encounter a specific combination of antigens. Tuned Therapeutics was founded by researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, and was acquired by Lyell Immunopharma in 2020 to bolster its cell therapy engineering capabilities.
