Company intelligence / Profile preview
TWINCORE Centre for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research is a German translational research institute focused on bridging the gap between basic infection biology and clinical application. Founded in 2008 as a joint venture between the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and the Hannover Medical School (MHH), TWINCORE is legally structured as a GmbH. The center's multidisciplinary teams of medical professionals and basic scientists work side-by-side to develop innovative strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. Key areas of research include virology, immunology, and molecular bacteriology, with a strong focus on viral hepatitis, respiratory infections (such as RSV, influenza, and COVID-19), and multi-resistant bacterial pathogens. TWINCORE also develops advanced platforms, such as MEMUMAB for rapid monoclonal antibody candidate development, to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical therapies.
