Ty Cobb Health Care System

Ty Cobb Healthcare System is a non-profit healthcare provider based in Northeast Georgia, established through a significant endowment from baseball legend Ty Cobb in 1947. The organization historically operated the Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center until its sale to St. Mary's Health Care System in 2015, after which the facility was renamed St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital. Following this divestiture, the system shifted its primary focus to long-term care, skilled nursing, and senior living services. It currently manages several facilities, including Ty Cobb Health and Rehabilitation and the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center. The system remains a vital part of the regional healthcare infrastructure, providing specialized geriatric and rehabilitative care to the local community.
