Company intelligence / Profile preview
TypeZero Technologies was a U.S. digital health company focused on diabetes management software, particularly algorithm-driven automated insulin delivery and decision-support tools. The company developed the inControl Diabetes Management Platform, including smartphone-based artificial pancreas and smart-pen advisory applications intended to personalize insulin dosing and improve glucose control in people with diabetes. Its technology originated from University of Virginia research and was used in clinical studies of closed-loop insulin delivery. In August 2018, Dexcom acquired TypeZero to strengthen its software and automated insulin delivery capabilities. TypeZero should therefore be viewed as an acquired diabetes technology company rather than an independent operating biotech or pharmaceutical developer.
