The company operated a network of over 200 medical centers and worksite clinics across 21 states, specializing in injury treatment, physical exams, and drug testing. Its business model focused on partnering with employers to provide cost-effective medical care and return-to-work programs for employees. In February 2018, U.S. HealthWorks was acquired by Concentra, a subsidiary of Select Medical, for approximately $753 million. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Concentra's national network, creating the largest occupational health provider in the country.
