Company intelligence / Profile preview
U3 Pharma is a German biotechnology company specializing in the discovery and development of targeted cancer therapies, particularly monoclonal antibodies. Established in 2001 by Professor Axel Ullrich, the company focused on inhibiting signal transduction pathways involved in tumor progression and drug resistance. Its most significant contribution to oncology is the development of patritumab, a first-in-class antibody targeting HER3. Following its acquisition by Daiichi Sankyo in 2008 for approximately $235 million, U3 Pharma's research was integrated into the parent company's global R&D structure. The lead asset has since evolved into patritumab deruxtecan, a leading antibody-drug conjugate currently in late-stage clinical development for lung and breast cancers.
