Overview
UGH Pharma, Inc. is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing neuroprotective peptide therapeutics for neurodegenerative and ischemic diseases. The company's lead asset is ND-13, a novel 20-amino acid cell-penetrating peptide derived from the DJ-1 (PARK7) protein. ND-13 is designed to protect cells against oxidative stress, neurotoxicity, and mitochondrial dysfunction by activating the Nrf2 pathway. The therapeutic candidate has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical animal models of Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple system atrophy (MSA), and focal ischemic stroke. UGH Pharma holds exclusive licensing rights to the DJ-1 peptide technology from Ramot at Tel Aviv University.
