Ultrazonix was an Israeli medical device company that developed an innovative, non-invasive system for treating spinal conditions, specifically herniated discs. The company's flagship technology combined real-time ultrasound imaging with laser therapy to perform percutaneous laser disc decompression (PLDD). This approach allowed for high-precision targeting of the affected disc area, aiming to reduce intradiscal pressure and alleviate pain without the need for traditional open surgery. The Ultrazonix system was designed as an outpatient procedure, offering patients a faster recovery time and a lower risk profile compared to conventional surgical interventions.
