Company intelligence / Profile preview
Uncommon has developed a proprietary process to produce cultivated pork products—such as bacon and pork belly—using porcine induced pluripotent stem cells. The company claims its technology can reduce CO₂ emissions by 80% per pound of pork compared to conventional methods. It does not use genetic engineering and aims for price parity with conventional pork. As of June 2023, Uncommon had moved into a new HQ with a pilot plant and closed a $30M Series A funding round.
