Unisyn Technologies

Unisyn Technologies was a specialized biotechnology company focused on the development of automated cell culture systems and the provision of contract manufacturing services. The company was widely recognized for its proprietary hollow fiber bioreactor technology, including the AcuSyst-S and AcuSyst-Xcell systems, which enabled the high-density cultivation of mammalian cells for protein production. These systems were primarily used for the manufacture of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins for both research and clinical applications. Unisyn provided scalable solutions that allowed biopharmaceutical companies to transition from laboratory-scale production to commercial manufacturing. In 2001, Unisyn was acquired by Biovest International, where its technology became integral to the production of personalized cancer immunotherapies, specifically idiotype vaccines for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
