United Fresh Start Foundation

The United Fresh Start Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization originally established by the United Fresh Produce Association to increase children's access to fresh fruits and vegetables. The foundation focuses on public health initiatives designed to combat childhood obesity and improve long-term dietary habits through school-based programs. Its flagship initiative, "Salad Bars to Schools," has donated thousands of salad bars to school districts across the United States to facilitate healthier food choices for students. Following the 2022 merger of its parent organization into the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), the foundation's mission and advocacy work have been integrated into the IFPA's broader global health and nutrition portfolio. The organization remains a key player in fostering partnerships between the produce industry, school foodservice directors, and public health advocates.
