United Hospital Center

United Hospital Center is a nonprofit regional acute care hospital in Bridgeport, West Virginia, operating as part of WVU Medicine, the West Virginia University Health System. Formed through the 1970 merger of St. Mary's and Union Protestant hospitals, the current Bridgeport campus opened in 2010 and serves North Central West Virginia with broad inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical, cancer, and specialty care services. The hospital maintains a large physician network, a family medicine residency program, and service lines including orthopaedics, oncology, gastroenterology, and emergency medicine. It is a healthcare delivery organization rather than a drug-development biotech or pharmaceutical company, so it does not have a traditional therapeutic pipeline.
