University of Arizona Health Network

The University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN) was a non-profit academic health system based in Tucson, Arizona, formed in 2011 through the merger of University Medical Center and University Physicians Healthcare. As the primary clinical partner for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, UAHN integrated medical education, advanced research, and patient care across multiple hospital campuses and clinics. The network was known for its high-acuity services, including level 1 trauma care, comprehensive cancer treatment through the UA Cancer Center, and multi-organ transplantation programs. In February 2015, UAHN was acquired by Phoenix-based Banner Health in a transaction valued at approximately $1.2 billion. This acquisition led to the rebranding of the system as Banner – University Medicine, creating a statewide academic medical center platform designed to provide financial stability and capital for infrastructure improvements.
