Unjani Clinics is a South African social franchise network of primary healthcare clinics designed to provide affordable, quality healthcare to underserved communities. The initiative empowers black female nurses to become entrepreneurs by owning and operating their own clinics, which are often housed in repurposed shipping containers. Services include primary healthcare consultations, family planning, HIV testing and counseling, and chronic disease management. By bridging the gap between the overburdened public health system and expensive private care, Unjani Clinics significantly improves healthcare accessibility and health outcomes in low-income areas. The model is supported by various corporate partners and focuses on sustainable, nurse-led clinical excellence.
