Urex Biotech is a Canadian biotechnology company that pioneered the development of probiotic solutions for women's urogenital health. Founded in 1988 by researchers Dr. Gregor Reid and Dr. Andrew Bruce, the company developed the clinically validated Urex probiotic blend, which consists of the strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 and Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14. These strains are specifically designed to restore and maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome, effectively reducing the incidence of bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and urinary tract infections.
