Company intelligence / Profile preview
Urovalve is a medical device company that develops proprietary technologies for the treatment of voiding dysfunctions. The company's primary product is the Surinate Bladder Management System, an internal prosthetic valve designed for men with chronic urinary retention. Unlike traditional catheters, the Surinate device is fully internal and utilizes a magnetic coupling mechanism, allowing patients to initiate urination using an external handheld controller. This approach is intended to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections and improve the overall quality of life for patients with underactive bladder or bladder outlet obstruction. The technology was originally spun out of research conducted at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
