Company intelligence / Profile preview
US Botanical Safety Laboratory was a nonprofit botanical ingredient testing and formulation services organization focused on quality, identity, purity, and phytochemical analysis of botanical and natural product ingredients. It was formed in North Carolina with roots in Bent Creek Institute and the North Carolina Arboretum ecosystem, and offered services including botanical identity testing, microbial testing, heavy metals, pesticide analysis, extraction, concentration, formulation, and custom research. The organization appears to have operated more like a specialty analytical laboratory and CRO serving the dietary supplement, natural products, hemp, and topical products markets rather than a therapeutic drug developer. Available public evidence suggests it was active in the 2010s, including a hemp testing launch in Western North Carolina in 2019, but there is limited recent evidence of ongoing operations and its website is no longer readily accessible. Accordingly, it is best characterized as a historical or likely inactive lab-services organization rather than an operating biotech pipeline company.
