Company intelligence / Profile preview
USA Drug was a prominent regional pharmacy chain headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, serving the Southern and Midwestern United States. Founded in 1968 by Stephen L. LaFrance, the company expanded significantly through the acquisition of other regional brands such as Super D, May's Drug, and Med-X. The chain offered a wide range of services including prescription fulfillment, over-the-counter medications, and health and beauty products. In 2012, Walgreens acquired the company for $438 million to strengthen its market presence in the region. Following the acquisition, most USA Drug locations were rebranded as Walgreens or closed, and its distribution operations were integrated into the Walgreens network.
