USBiomaterials Corporation was a biotechnology company specializing in the development and commercialization of bioactive glass (Bioglass) technology for medical and dental applications. Founded in 1991 and based in Alachua, Florida, the company pioneered the use of synthetic bone graft substitutes and treatments for dental hypersensitivity. Its core technology, Bioglass 45S5, is a highly biocompatible material that bonds to both hard and soft tissues. The company's assets were eventually split and acquired, leading to the formation of NovaBone Products for orthopedic use and NovaMin Technology for oral care, the latter of which was acquired by GSK.
