Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) is a non-profit coalition of healthcare providers, payers, and state government entities dedicated to improving healthcare through electronic data exchange. Founded in 1993, it serves as the state-designated Health Information Exchange (HIE) for Utah and operates a full-service clearinghouse for administrative and clinical data. UHIN facilitates the secure transfer of medical claims, electronic health records, and clinical alerts to reduce administrative costs and enhance patient care coordination. Its primary platform, the cHIE, allows clinicians to access real-time patient data across disparate health systems, ensuring that critical information is available at the point of care.
