UVA Licensing & Ventures Group (LVG) is the intellectual property management and venture creation arm of the University of Virginia. It serves as the primary interface between UVA research and the commercial sector, handling patenting, licensing, and business development. The organization manages a broad portfolio of technologies across life sciences, engineering, and physical sciences. LVG also oversees the UVA LVG Seed Fund, which provides early-stage capital to startups based on university research. By facilitating the transition of academic discoveries into the marketplace, LVG supports the development of new therapeutics, medical devices, and diagnostic tools.
