Vaccine Initiative

The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) is a global non-profit scientific research organization dedicated to developing vaccines and antibodies for HIV and other neglected infectious diseases. While originally focused on HIV, IAVI has expanded its portfolio to include programs for tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases like Lassa fever and Ebola, and global health threats such as snakebite. The organization operates its own R&D laboratories and manages a complex global network of clinical trial sites and academic partnerships. IAVI leverages a proprietary vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) viral vector platform to accelerate the development of vaccines for viral hemorrhagic fevers.
