Vaccine Technology Center

Vaccine Technology Center (VTC) is the specialized vaccine research, development, and manufacturing division of Zydus Lifesciences (formerly Cadila Healthcare), based in Ahmedabad, India. The center gained international prominence for developing ZyCoV-D, the world's first plasmid DNA vaccine for human use, which received emergency use authorization for COVID-19. VTC operates state-of-the-art facilities for the production of a diverse range of vaccines, including inactivated, live attenuated, and recombinant protein platforms. Its commercial portfolio features vaccines for rabies (Vaxirab N), influenza (VaxiFlu-S), typhoid, and the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) complex. The center is actively advancing a robust pipeline targeting high-impact infectious diseases such as HPV, malaria, and Ebola, while maintaining a strong focus on global health through WHO prequalifications and partnerships with international agencies like GAVI.
