Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) was established as a non-profit organization to provide the UK with its first strategic vaccine development and manufacturing capability. Originally founded by a consortium including the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, it was designed to accelerate the development of new vaccines and provide emergency surge capacity during pandemics. In 2022, the organization was acquired by Catalent to integrate the facility into a global network of CDMO services. The center focuses on a variety of vaccine modalities, including viral vectors and mRNA, to support both commercial production and clinical trial supply.
