Company intelligence / Profile preview
Vaccinopolis is a state-of-the-art vaccine research and testing facility located at the University of Antwerp's Campus Drie Eiken in Belgium. It specializes in Controlled Human Infection Models (CHIM), where healthy volunteers are deliberately infected with a pathogen in a controlled environment to test vaccine efficacy. The facility features high-containment (BSL-2 and BSL-3) units, 30 specialized beds for residential volunteer stays, and advanced laboratories for immunomonitoring. Vaccinopolis serves as a critical hub for international vaccine development, offering services to pharmaceutical companies and academic researchers to accelerate the clinical trial process. By providing a controlled setting for early-phase clinical trials, the center helps significantly shorten the time required for vaccine validation. It was established with significant support from the Belgian and Flemish governments to bolster pandemic preparedness and global health.
