Vadilex

VadiLex was a French biotechnology company specializing in the development of selective immunosuppressants for autoimmune diseases and transplantation. The company's lead program, FR104, is a pegylated monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) designed to selectively block the CD28 receptor. This mechanism prevents T-cell activation while sparing the inhibitory signals of CTLA-4, aiming for a more targeted approach than traditional immunosuppressants. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Nantes and the Nantes University Hospital, the company was later renamed Effimune. In 2016, Effimune merged with OSE Pharma to form OSE Immunotherapeutics, a publicly traded company.
