Valorisation-Recherche, S.E.C. is a Canadian limited partnership established to commercialize academic research from universities and affiliated hospitals in Quebec. Founded in 1999 with a $220 million fund (VRQ), it has served as a primary vehicle for managing intellectual property, funding early-stage development, and licensing technologies to the global pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The organization has been instrumental in the development of various therapeutic candidates, including the celiac disease treatment BL-7010, and has supported the creation of numerous spin-off companies. Its portfolio spans diverse modalities such as small molecules, peptides, and monoclonal antibodies across multiple therapeutic areas. In 2021, its operations and management were consolidated into Axelys, the unified provincial agency for research valorization in Quebec.
