Company intelligence / Profile preview
Vanguard Medical Concepts was a leading pioneer in the medical device reprocessing industry, focused on the sterilization and refurbishment of single-use medical devices (SUDs). Founded in 1991, the company provided healthcare facilities with cost-effective alternatives to purchasing new equipment by safely reprocessing complex devices such as electrophysiology catheters and ultrasonic scalpels. Vanguard was instrumental in working with the FDA to establish rigorous regulatory standards for the reprocessing industry, ensuring the safety and efficacy of refurbished products. In 2005, the company merged with Alliance Medical Corporation to form Ascent Healthcare Solutions. This combined entity was later acquired by Stryker Corporation in 2009 for $525 million, eventually becoming part of Stryker Sustainability Solutions.
