Vantage Health Plan

Vantage Health Plan was a Louisiana-based regional health insurance company and health maintenance organization headquartered in Monroe, Louisiana. Founded by physicians, the company offered commercial health plans, Medicare Advantage products, exchange plans, and coverage options for employer groups and public-sector members in Louisiana. Vantage operated as a payer and managed-care organization rather than a drug-development biotech or pharmaceutical company, so it did not maintain a therapeutic pipeline in the conventional life sciences sense. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana acquired Vantage in 2019, and Vantage-branded HMO and Medicare Advantage offerings were subsequently consolidated into Blue Cross products, with Vantage plans no longer available beginning January 1, 2024. The entity is healthcare-related, but its business was insurance administration and care management rather than therapeutics R&D.
