Overview
VAS101, a patented topical curcumin formulation using transdermal technology, has shown promising preclinical results in reducing pain, stabilizing red blood cells, and lowering inflammation in sickle cell disease. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for both sickle cell disease and osteoarthritis. The FDA granted Orphan Drug Designation to Vasceptor® (VAS101) for sickle cell disease in June 2025. Preclinical studies also support potential benefits across other chronic inflammatory conditions.
