Vascular Control Systems was a medical device company specializing in minimally invasive solutions for women's health, specifically targeting uterine fibroids. The company developed the FloStat System, a proprietary technology designed for uterine artery occlusion to treat symptomatic fibroids as an alternative to hysterectomy. This device-based approach allowed for a less invasive procedure that could be performed in an outpatient setting. In 2006, the company was acquired by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson company, for approximately $50 million plus potential milestone payments.
