VeinRx

VeinRx was a medical device company specializing in the development of minimally invasive technologies for the treatment of venous disorders, particularly varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of Syntheon LLC, the company developed the ScleroCath (also marketed as the InfusionCath), a specialized balloon-occlusion catheter designed for catheter-directed sclerotherapy (CDS). This technology enabled the precise, localized delivery of sclerosing agents, such as sodium tetradecyl sulfate, directly to the affected vein segment, improving treatment efficacy while reducing systemic exposure. Although the company successfully achieved FDA 510(k) clearance and commercialized its device in the mid-2000s, its operations eventually ceased, and its intellectual property was transferred to other entities.
