The VentrAssist LVAD demonstrated strong clinical results, with one-year survival rates up to 74% in end-stage heart failure patients—historically expected at around 50%. In CE Mark Bridge to Transplant trials, survival was about 85%. Some patients improved enough that the device could be explanted after cardiac recovery. Over 100 patients were implanted globally by mid/late 2000s. The product was market released in Europe and Australia but had not completed FDA approval before the company's collapse.
