Ventures West Management

Ventures West Management is a veteran Canadian venture capital firm that historically played a foundational role in the development of the North American life sciences and technology sectors. Established in 1968 and headquartered in Vancouver, the firm specialized in early-stage investments across biotechnology, medical devices, and healthcare IT. Throughout its history, Ventures West managed over $700 million in assets and supported numerous successful startups through to IPO or acquisition. Although the firm is no longer actively raising new funds, its legacy includes critical early-stage investments in prominent Canadian biotech companies such as Xenon Pharmaceuticals and Angiotech Pharmaceuticals.
