Company intelligence / Profile preview
Verdeca is an agricultural biotechnology company focused on the development and deregulation of soybean varieties with improved environmental stress tolerance. Originally established as a 50/50 joint venture between Arcadia Biosciences and Bioceres Crop Solutions, the company is best known for its HB4 technology, which provides drought and salinity tolerance to crops. The HB4 trait, derived from sunflower, allows soybeans to maintain yields under water-stressed conditions. In 2020, Bioceres acquired Arcadia's remaining interest in the venture, making Verdeca a wholly-owned subsidiary. The company's products have received regulatory approvals in major soybean-producing regions, including the United States, Brazil, and Argentina.
