Company intelligence / Profile preview
Veridex was a medical diagnostics company that pioneered the field of circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment and enumeration. The company is most notable for developing the CellSearch System, which remains the only FDA-cleared platform for the capture and counting of CTCs in patients with metastatic breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers. By providing a "liquid biopsy" approach, Veridex enabled clinicians to monitor disease progression and treatment efficacy through a simple blood draw. Originally established as a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, the company's assets were eventually transitioned to Janssen Diagnostics and subsequently acquired by Menarini-Silicon Biosystems in 2017. Its technology played a foundational role in the development of personalized oncology and non-invasive cancer monitoring.
