Company intelligence / Profile preview
Verticor was a medical device company focused on developing innovative surgical therapies for heart failure and functional mitral regurgitation (FMR). The company's primary technology was the Coapsys device, a surgical implant designed to treat FMR by reshaping the left ventricle and the mitral valve annulus without requiring open-heart surgery on the valve itself. Verticor acquired the Coapsys assets from Edwards Lifesciences after the latter discontinued the program following its acquisition of Myocor. The device was evaluated in the RESTOR-MV clinical trial, which aimed to demonstrate its efficacy in reducing regurgitation and improving cardiac function in heart failure patients.
