Genera, formerly known as Veterina, is a leading Croatian pharmaceutical company specializing in animal health. Founded in 1901 and formerly a division of Pliva, the company became independent as Veterina d.d. in 2001 before rebranding to Genera in 2009. The company is a major producer of veterinary vaccines, particularly for poultry and livestock, and operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kalinovica, Croatia. In 2015, Genera was acquired by Dechra Pharmaceuticals, a global leader in veterinary medicine, and now serves as a key biologicals manufacturing site for the group. Its portfolio includes well-known vaccine brands such as Gumbokal and Pestikal, serving markets across Europe and beyond.
