VHA Health Foundation

The VHA Health Foundation was a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to support the mission of VHA Inc., a network of not-for-profit healthcare systems. The foundation focused on improving community health and patient care by providing grants and educational resources to healthcare providers. Key areas of investment included disaster preparedness, patient safety, and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. It served as a catalyst for innovation, helping member hospitals implement evidence-based practices to improve clinical outcomes. Following the 2015 merger of VHA Inc. and University HealthSystem Consortium to form Vizient, the foundation's legacy programs were integrated into the successor organization. During its peak, it was a significant contributor to healthcare quality improvement initiatives across the United States.
